Catching up
Let’s do a little catch-up here now that the redesign is complete. I did go for a walk on Monday of only 1.2 miles, but late yesterday and today something in my left ankle did not feel right, and putting weight and pressure on it causes some pain and limping. So I took today off to give it some rest. We’ll see how it feels tomorrow and if it’s in shape for a stroll.
The weather here has turned gorgeous - Yesterday and today it hit 82° for a high. Blue skies, no clouds. One thing I find I have to adapt myself to is how fast things can cool down. With no clouds there is nothing to retain the heat of the day and it can cool down pretty quickly. Back home it’s - well, I don’t want to talk about it. Cold. Snow. Gray.
My Zumo came yesterday and I went to work updating all the maps and registering it. I seem to have left a piece of mounting hardware back home, so I had to order what I think is the correct mounting ball, which should arrive tomorrow. The daily trip to the UPS store has been fun as something to look forward to in the afternoon.
I was going to do a scouting ride today, but AML jumped in and wanted to organize the rest of the vacation. So we sat down with websites and maps and lists of things to do, and I think we’ve hammered out the rest of our itinerary here. We have a Tucson excursion planned, a Phoenix excursion planned, an Ajo excursion planned, and a Cactus League spring training excursion planned. In between all that are a few day trips, and I had to reserve some days for trail riding and podcast creation. I’m a little bummed that I have to “work” while I am out here, but so it goes. We will also be taking a trip to see my brother in Fort Mohave as well as the Grand Canyon on the way out to see my daughter. We probably have a 7-day road trip ahead for that journey at the end of March.
This evening we decided to get pizza and wings from Vinny’s New York Style Pizza just down the road. I was pretty amazed to see the signs below hanging on the wall. No matter how far away you may travel, it seems you’re never that far away from home!
